FABEL / FÁBULA / FABLE ANDRÉ SOUSA / TOBIAS HERING Using the centre folds as an axis, this book develops a visual faux-narrative from its extremes to the centre, recalling a travel or dream through different geographies, wondering about the unity of one's speech and one's position towards images and reality. Through the repetition of objects or subjects this line up of images avoids the construction of hierarchy in images, and produces both a déjà vu strangeness’ effect and a night and day cycle. This book shows for the first time a wider group of photos by Sousa revealing new layers or bringing clues for trackers on his work. André Sousa (b. 1980), is a Porto based artist, resident at Künstlerhaus Bethanien between Dec 2008 and Nov 2009, with the support of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, João Hogan Grant. Tobias Hering (b. 1971), is a freelance writer and film curator living in Berlin.
